Welcome to our Community Action Project!
In an era of rising diabetes and obesity rates, we are putting an entire generation at risk due to poor nutrition habits and a lack of sufficient exercise. Most teachers and parents are well aware of the alarming trends that face youth health today, but it is not always easy to instigate change when there are so many other tasks taking up today’s busy schedules. That is why we hope this website will prove a valuable resource for anyone interested in eating healthy, local, and affordable food. Many recent studies have pointed out how important the relationship between healthy eating is with brain function and growth. If we view the youth of British Columbia as our future leaders, should we not invest in and nurture this resource as best we can?
As a small group of young student-teachers we hope that this project is a small step in a significant movement toward connecting local organic food-producers with schools around British Columbia. Healthy living is fun and affordable! And as the Meme below suggests, you are unlikely to regret it!
